GOALS: 

• To provide an opportunity for a volunteer manager to attend the annual NAVPLG pre-conference.  This scholarship will be awarded, based on demonstrated need, to an individual who would not otherwise be able to attend due to financial challenges.  To promote participation in NAVPLG professional development and other activities.  

CRITERIA:

• Must be NAVPLG member.
• Minimum of one year in the volunteer management profession.
• Letter of support from current supervisor or sponsor.
• Recipient agrees to write a brief article for the next NAVPLG newsletter summarizing his/her pre-conference experience and the impact upon the individual/organization as a volunteer manager.
• Recipient agrees to consider serving on a NAVPLG committee for a minimum of one year following the scholarship award.
• Limit of one application per organization (per local office) per year.
• Previous individual scholarship recipients are not eligible to reapply.

• The Selection Committee reserves the right to request additional information from applicants.
• Scholarship recipient will be notified the first week of May. The recipient must contact Cyndy Howell if he/she is unable to attend so that the waiver may be awarded to another applicant.
