ARVM
Fall Conference in Dallas, Texas
The Association of Volunteer Resource
Management (AVRM) has incorporated and set a location and date for its
first national conference. The conference, themed BUILDING BRIDGES TO
OUR FUTURE, is scheduled to begin October 3 and end October 5, 2007, in
Dallas, Texas, reports Claudia Dalton, AVRM Conference Chair. “The
‘Bridges’ we
refer to are our own professional development, technology and
information. This conference offers a great agenda, including a special
event evening, wonderful keynote, and several meals, along with great
training and networking opportunities.
It will be a time that we celebrate our new national organization to
serve the needs of the individual Volunteer Resources Manager.
Our planning team has been hard at
work pulling the conference together. What’s truly amazing is that we
have been able to do this without major sponsors, except for Gilley’s,
which is providing the venue, or asking the membership to donate up
front. There will be a cost for the conference, of course, but we don’t
expect it to be more than a couple of hundred dollars.” For information
